Bristol online community radio station goes on DAB multiplex

A new community radio station in Bristol is launching on Bristol East small-scale DAB multiplex.

Base Radio, dedicated to promoting local culture, music, and news in Bristol, will do on DAB from April 29th at 8am.

The station’s programming features a variety of shows, including news and current affairs, music, and culture. The station will also provide a platform for local musicians and artists to showcase their talents, and for community groups to share information and events with the wider community.

“We’re thrilled to bring our community station and programming to a wider audience through DAB. It’s a great opportunity to join the likes of BCFM, Bradley Stoke, Keynsham Town and Ujima radio, in providing a community station for South Bristol and Bristol as a whole” said Rodney Brown, one of the management team.

“Our mission is to provide a platform for local voices to be heard, and to promote the diversity of our community. By being available on DAB, we can now reach more people than ever before and showcase the unique culture of our city.

“We would like to thank Nick Piggott from Bristol Digital Radio and Darren Shortt from The Mediasite for all their valuable help.”
