Just six weeks after debuting as host of “Newsline” from 12-2pm weekdays, Brigitte Quinn departed Connoisseur Media News/Talk 600 WICC Bridgeport/95.9 WFOX Southport CT earlier this month.
Quinn joined WICC on September 30 following the station’s addition of its simulcast on FM in early September as part of the station’s expansion of local Talk programming. Best known for her long run at New York’s News stations, Quinn co-anchored mornings at 880 WCBS from 1988 to 1996, fill-ins in 2013-14, and middays from January 2023 until the station’s sign-off in August. Quinn also anchored mornings and then middays at 1010 WINS from 2013 to 2023 spending eight years as morning co-anchor before moving to middays in 2021 and on television was an anchor at MSNBC, Fox News Channel, and NBC News At Sunrise.
WICC now lists “The Download with Jon Kamal and Chris Williams” in the 12-2pm timeslot. Kamal has been with the company since 2019 in multiple roles including Network Producer for the syndicated “Anna & Raven” morning show based at Hot AC “Star 99.9” WEZN, midday host on the former Rock “95.9 The Fox” WFOX, and currently is tracking weekends on WEZN and nights on Rock 99.1 WPLR New Haven. He is also now a reporter on WICC’s “Melissa In The Morning”. Williams joined WICC in 2014 as a producer. He began hosting a Saturday afternoon Oldies show in 2020 and rose to afternoon news anchor in September 2023.
