The current trial small-scale DAB licence holder in Brighton and Hove has teamed up with local radio services to apply for the full-time licence.
Brighton & Hove Digital Radio, a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, will be funded by OpenDAB Brighton & Hove together with Platform B, Brighton’s only youth-led radio station, Gaydio Brighton, and local commercial radio operator Total Sense Media.
If the bid is successful, an allocation of free carriage will be made available to qualifying C-DSP licensed community radio services.
Other community and commercial radio services keen to reach Brighton & Hove can see more at brightondab.org.uk.
OpenDAB Brighton & Hove CIC, created by Daniel Nathan & Rashid Mustapha, has been running since 2015, broadcasting 26 local radio services to Brighton & Hove.
