Bo Matthews Moves To Alpha Media San Jose As Programming/Operations Director

Alpha Media has announced that Canton and Dayton OH Operations Manager Bo Matthews will become Programming and Operations Director for its San Jose cluster including the recently launched “Bay Country” 94.5 KBAY Gilroy/92.1 KKDV Walnut Creek and Hot AC “Mix 106.5” KEZR San Jose.

Matthews has been serving as Interim Program Director in San Jose for the past seven months in addition to his duties in Ohio. He has been with Alpha Media since February 2018 after previously serving as Senior VP/Programming for iHeartMedia Cincinnati and Program Director of Rock 102.7 WEBN and CHR “Kiss 107.1” WKFS. He has also programmed WAKS and WMMS Cleveland, WPLA and WFKS Jacksonville, and stations in Fort Myers and Youngstown.

Alpha Media San Jose, home of Bay Country (94.5 KBAY FM and 92.1 KKDV FM) and Mix 106.5 (106.5 KEZR FM), today announced Bo Matthews as Programming & Operations Director of the cluster.

Matthews has acted as interim Program Director for Alpha Media San Jose over the last seven months while simultaneously serving as Operations Manager of Alpha Media’s Canton and Dayton, Ohio clusters. Bo says, “We have been doing such great work together for the past several months, it made perfect sense to keep this mojo rockin’. Mix is already a top performer in the Bay and I couldn’t be more excited about diving in headfirst with Bay Country; I’ve always been envious of Country stations because of the special relationship between Nashville artists and radio. I’ve had so many friends succesfuly make the transition to Country radio from other formats and am thrilled about this opportunity. Thanks to Bob Proffitt, Larry Bastida, Phil Becker, Bill McElveen, David Drutz, Larry Gawthrop and Brett Beshore for their confidence, partnership and leadership.”

Alpha Media Silicon Valley Market Manager David Drutz shares, “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Bo during the last seven months and witnessed his tremendous skill set in action as we flipped 94.5 KBAY FM from classic hits to Bay Country while also maintaining Mix 106.5’s success. He’s absolutely the right person to oversee programming and operations of our two stations as we continue to grow both throughout the Bay Area.”

Prior to his service with Alpha Media, Matthews held several programming leadership positions in Cincinnati, Cleveland and Florida with iHeartMedia.
