In a late weekend shocker, BJ Shea has announced his exit from mornings at iHeartMedia Classic Rock 102.5 KZOK Seattle after just nine months.
Shea shared a brief statement on social media simply stating, “Hey all, just wanted to let you know that I am no longer on KZOK. I can’t comment any further at this time… Stay tuned.”
Shea joined KZOK in January following his exit from Audacy Rock 99.9 KISW at the end of 2023. He has been a stalwart in the Seattle market since 1999 when he joined then Hot Talk “100.7 The Buzz” KQBZ before being fired and rehired the following year. Following the demise of KQBZ at the end 2005, Shea moved to mornings at KISW in January 2006 where he remained until last year. He immediately jumped to KZOK to join incumbent co-host Sarah Schiller following the retirement of Danny Bonaduce. Shea began his career at multiple stations in the Boston area before joining Brother Wease’s Show at WCMF Rochester NY. He would depart in 1992 for stints at KRQR San Francisco, WIVY Jacksonville, and KZZP Phoenix before returning to WCMF as afternoon host in 1997.
