Seven Mountains Media swapped frequencies of two of its properties in Stroudsburg PA on Wednesday afternoon.
Country “Bigfoot 103.1” 840 WVPO/103.1 W276DG Stroudsburg has moved to newly acquired 96.7 WABT Lehman Township and 97.3 W247AE East Stroudsburg with the WVPO calls moving to 96.7. The upgrade from the AM/translator to the Class A FM signal and in-town translator could help the station better compete in a crowded Country marketplace in the Poconos that includes Cumulus Media’s “Cat Country 96” WCTO Easton simulcasting on 107.1 WWYY Belvidere NJ, iHeartMedia’s recently flipped “106.3 The Bear” WHCY Blairstown NJ, and Audacy’s “Froggy 101” WGGY Wilkes-Barre, which has an East Stroudsburg licensed booster signal. WVPO continues to feature Compass Media Networks’ Big D & Bubba in mornings, tracker Chris ‘Grizzly Adams’ Randolph in middays, Program Director Becca Lynn in afternoons and Compass’ “Taste of Country Nights” in evenings.
The Classic Hits format that had been on 96.7 moves to 840/103.1 under new WPCO call letters. “Pocono 103.1” will continue to feature Gary Cee in mornings and Greta Latona in middays.
Seven Mountains Media closed on its $400,000 acquisition of WABT and W247AE from Bud Williamson’s Neversink Media in February. The company also owns Hot AC 93.5 WSBG Stroudsburg in the market.
