Following her departure from “Matty in the Morning” at iHeartMedia CHR “Kiss 108” WXKS-FM Boston earlier this month, Rebekah ‘Bex’ Maroun will join co-owned CHR “Q102” WIOQ Philadelphia as afternoon co-host.
“Bex and Buster” will reunite Maroun and WIOQ Program Director Brandon ‘Buster’ Satterfield starting Monday, July 5 in the 3-7pm timeslot. The pair previously worked together in Philadelphia at “Wired 96.5” WRDW-FM where Satterfield was APD/MD and later Program Director and Maroun was part of the morning show. She then succeeded him in afternoons when the station relaunched in 2015 as CHR “96.5 Amp Radio“.
Prior to joining Matty in the Morning in 2018, Maroun worked at 96.5 through its multiple iterations as “Wired 96.5” WRDW-FM, “96.5 Amp Radio” WZMP, AC “Today’s 96.5” WTDY-FM and return to CHR as “96.5 TDY“. At her time with CBS Radio, she also hosted segments for News 1060 KYW, Sports 94.1 WIP and KYW-TV.
Q102, Philly’s #1 Hit Music Station, announced today that Rebekah “Bex” Maroun will join Program Director and on-air talent “Buster” Satterfield on “Bex and Buster,” effective July 5. “Bex and Buster” will broadcast weekdays from 3–7 p.m. and cover the latest pop culture headlines, including a variety of music and lifestyle topics, celebrity interviews and more.
Bex joins Q102 from KISS108 in Boston, where she spent three years co-hosting and executive producing “Matty In The Morning.” She is making her return to the Philadelphia market, where she previously hosted morning and afternoon drive for WTDY-FM. Bex is a media veteran with several years of on-air experience, including as the host of a sports segment on WIP-FM and as an entertainment reporter for KYW Newsradio.
“Bex and I have a rich history of making magic together, and we’re pumped to take it to the next level,” said Buster. “The new show will give us an opportunity to entertain Philly every afternoon with our lifestyle content and wild segments. We look forward to making you laugh.”
“I can’t contain my excitement,” said Bex. “I am ecstatic to be coming home to Philadelphia, being part of the legendary Q102/iHeartMedia family, and joining forces with Buster, a friend I have admired & rooted for so many years. Thank you, iHeartMedia, for this phenomenal opportunity. Philly, I missed you!”
