As it proceeds through its Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation and sale of its properties to Davis Media, JAM Media Solutions has had to take two of its four properties in the Outer Banks silent while moving one of the brands to a new location.
Hot AC “Beach 104” WCXL Kill Devil Hills is currently heard on 92.3 WZPR Nags Head where it has replaced Rock “Z92.3“. WCXL went off the air on April 30 as the station noted it lost access to its tower site.
The move of WCXL’s programming to WZPR follows another one of JAM Media Solutions stations going silent. Country “Big 94.5” WCMS Hatteras ceased operations at the end of March as the station’s tower required structural and equipment repairs and funds are not currently available due to the bankruptcy proceedings. Only AAA “99.1 The Sound” WVOD Manteo has been unaffected.
Davis Media began operating JAM’s properties in the Outer Banks and Muscatine IA on May 1 via LMA. The company’s $800,000 purchase of the stations allocates $150,000 to correct all of the necessary repairs on WCMS’ tower.
