BBC Radio 1Xtra introduces two new radio shows

BBC Radio 1Xtra is launching two new radio shows which will also feature prominently on-demand via BBC Sounds.

The first new show, 1Xtra’s Rap List, will air weekly in the schedule on Wednesday’s 11pm-1am and then as a flagship on demand offer for 1Xtra on BBC Sounds.

1Xtra’s Rap List will play mainstream Rap, Hip-Hop, Grime, and Drill (as well as other mainstream sub-genres of Rap) that will, they say, celebrate and showcase the biggest genre-defining hits from the 2000s right through to the present day.

The BBC says the new show will be a crowd pleasing, high energy slot filled with tracks that audiences know and love, as well as a dose of future smash hits, and feature voices from famous figures in Rap culture.

The second new show, 1Xtra’s R&B Chill, will also air weekly on Thursday’s midnight-1am and be hosted by a monthly rotation of presenters.

1Xtra’s R&B Chill will provide listeners with the perfect mix of silky and soulful R&B sounds – from old school classics to future hitmakers and superstars. The new show will also feature artist takeovers from Global RnB artists.
