Following the closing of the involuntary transfer of Ed Stolz’ stations to bankruptcy court ordered trustee Michael W. Carmel, AutopilotFM has begun operating the stations via Time Brokerage Agreement.
With the beginning of the programming agreement, Dance “Pirate Radio 92.7” KREV Alameda/San Francisco relaunched as “Revolution 92.7” with what they are describing as a “Pure EDM” format at 12pm today. The station notes that “The roots of Electronic Dance Music run deep in the Bay Area, and KREV Revolution 92.7 honors that legacy through its one-of-a-kind presentation of true – not pop – EDM.”
Carmel asked the bankruptcy court in May to approve the deal with AutopilotFM to program the stations. The filing noted that AutopilotFM would take over once approved by the court and FCC, paid by the revenue generated from the operations of the stations with the revenue also going towards paying monthly estate expenses and any rolled-forward expenses with any remaining revenue spilt 50/50 between AutoPilotFM and to the trustee on behalf of the estate. There is no obligation to make any payment to AutoPilotFM if no revenue is generated. The Albuquerque based AutoPilotFM is run by Melinda Vega, Kurt Nilson, and Don Davis and KREV is being programmed by Zaid Gonzalez, who also programs Davis’ Dance “Pirate Radio 96.7” KSFE Grants NM.
As the stations resume broadcasting, AutopilotFM will launch new programming on 97.7 KRCK-FM Mecca/Palm Springs, 95.5 K238AK Palm Springs and 98.1 K251BX Palm Desert CA, and 104.3 KFRH North Las Vegas and 790 KBET Winchester/103.1 K276GX Las Vegas NV.
