Nielsen Audio has released Day 2 of its monthly four day sweep of ratings in PPM markets.
Today’s releases include Washington DC, Boston, Miami, Seattle, Detroit, Phoenix, Minneapolis, San Diego, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Denver, Baltimore, and St. Louis.

While Hubbard News 103.5 WTOP continues to lead Washington DC with its 8.8 to 9.2 rise, Radio One Adult R&B “Majic 102.3/92.7” WMMJ/WDCJ surges up to second with a big 7.0 to 8.9 gain. Howard University’s competing Adult R&B 96.3 WHUR slips to third but inches up 7.9 to 8.0. Public News/Talk 88.5 WAMU drops 7.5 to 6.6. iHeartMedia Alternative “DC 101” WWDC continues its upswing 5.2 – 5.7 – 6.4 to enter the top five.
iHeartMedia AC 97.1 WASH dips 6.6 to 5.5, while sister Country 98.7 WMZQ trends down 4.3 – 3.4 – 3.1. Classical 90.9 WETA rises 3.9 to 4.7, while Radio One Gospel “Praise 104.1” WPRS-FM trends up 2.2 – 2.9 – 3.1.
After setting a station record last month, Beasley Media Classic Hits 105.7 WROR Boston drops back down 9.1 to 7.5. iHeartMedia CHR “Kiss 108” WXKS-FM rises 6.1 to 6.8, while co-owned News/Talk 1030 WBZ is up 5.9 to 6.2. Beasley Country 102.5 WKLB places fourth with a 6.1 to 6.0 dip, while iHeart Classic Rock 100.7 WZLX dips 6.0 to 5.9.
Cox Media Group Soft AC “Easy 93.1” WFEZ falls from its station record 9.6 share last month to an 8.6. Cox Adult R&B “Hot 105” WHQT rises 7.6 to 7.7. Audacy AC “101.5 Lite-FM” WLYF falls 7.3 to 6.8 to hold onto third. SBS Salsa “Zeta 92.3” WCMQ is off 5.4 to 5.2, while Univision Spanish AC “Amor 107.5” WAMR rises 4.7 to 5.1.
Bonneville News/Talk 97.3 KIRO-FM is slightly off its record setting July numbers down 7.8 to 7.3 but remains on top of Seattle. Audacy Rock 99.9 KISW reclaims second with its 6.5 to 6.4 dip. Sinclair News 1000 KOMO/97.7 KOMO-FM falls 6.3 to 5.8 to tie iHeartMedia Classic Rock 102.5 KZOK (down 6.8 to 5.8). iHeartMedia Classic Hits “95.7 The Jet” KJR-FM places fifth with a 5.3 to 5.2 drop.
Classical 98.1 KING-FM is trending down 3.2 – 2.0 – 1.9, while Sinclair Hot AC “Star 101.5” KPLZ-FM is up 1.9 – 2.0 – 2.4.
iHeartMedia takes the top three spots in Phoenix. AC “99.9 KEZ” KESZ remains on top with a 6.6 to 6.7 rise. Conservative Talk 550 KFYI jumps up 3.8 to 5.0, while Variety Hits “95.5 The Mountain” KYOT is up 4.4 to 5.0. Audacy Classic Hits 94.5 KOOL-FM slips 5.4 to 4.9 for fourth. Three stations tie for fifth as iHeartMedia Country 102.5 KNIX trends down 6.0 – 5.7 – 4.5 with Hubbard’s duo of Classic Rock 100.7 KSLX (up 4.1 to 4.5) and Rock “98 KUPD” (down 4.7 to 4.5).
After surging to a 6.1 share due to the Suns run to the NBA finals, Bonneville Sports “Arizona Sports 98.7” KMVP falls down to a 2.2 share.
Audacy Classic Hits 104.3 WOMC rises a full share point 6.2 to 7.2 to move into a first place tie in Detroit with Beasley Classic Rock 94.7 WCSX (7.1 to 7.2). iHeartMedia Adult R&B “Mix 92.3” WMXD rises 5.1 to 6.2. Audacy’s duo of News 950 WWJ (5.8 to 5.7) and Sports “97.1 The Ticket” WXYT-FM (5.5 to 5.4) round out the top five.
iHeartMedia Classic Hits “Kool 108” KQQL (8.1 to 7.9) and Hubbard Hot AC “KS 95” KSTP-FM (steady at 7.9) tie for the Minneapolis market lead. Northwestern Media Christian AC 98.5 KTIS-FM slips 7.9 to 7.2 to place in a tie with Public News/Talk 91.1 KNOW-FM (up 6.2 to 7.2). Audacy Variety Hits “104.1 Jack-FM” KZJK rises to fifth 5.5 to 6.0.
LM San Diego Rhythmic AC “Magic 92.5” XHRM is up 5.1 to 6.1 to take the San Diego market lead. Audacy Classic Hits “98.1 Sunny-FM” KXSN trends down 6.7 – 6.3 – 5.7 to fall to second. iHeartMedia CHR “Channel 93.3” KHTS-FM holds at a 5.2 share. LM San Diego Variety Hits “100.7 Big-FM” KFBG (4.5 to 4.6) and Public News/Talk 89.5 KPBS (4.4 to 4.6) tie for fourth.
iHeartMedia Classic Rock 101.5 KGB-FM falls 6.0 to 4.4, while co-owned “Rock 105.3” KIOZ rose 3.3 to 4.3 and Hip Hop “Jam’n 95.7” KSSX is up 2.4 to 3.0. Univision Regional Mexican “Que Buena 106.5” KLNV falls 5.2 to 3.6.
After 111 consecutive survey periods with at least a share of the Tampa market lead, Cox Soft AC 105.5 WDUV has fallen to second place. Radio Training Network Christian AC “The Joy FM” 91.5 WCIE rises 6.6 to 7.8 to take sole possession of the lead, while WDUV was up 6.6 to 7.5 to fall to second. Cox Classic Rock “107.3 The Eagle” KXGL holds into third down 6.0 to 5.8. Beasley Classic Hits “Q105” WRBQ is down 5.6 to 5.3. A pair of AC’s move into a fifth place tie with iHeartMedia’s “Mix 100.7” WMTX up 4.8 to 5.0 and Cox’s “Magic 94.9” WWRM up 4.6 to 5.0.
Beasley Country 99.5 WQYK trends down 3.4 – 3.1 – 2.8 for its lowest share since 1977.
Bonneville AC 101.1 KOSI jumps up to the top of the Denver market with a 5.7 to 6.5 gain, while sister Country 98.5 KYGO drops 6.7 to 6.4. iHeartMedia Classic Rock “103.5 The Fox” KRFX dips 6.4 to 6.1. Public News/Talk 90.1 KCFR places fourth down 4.8 to 4.5. A pair of Hot AC’s tie for fifth as KSE Media’s “Mix 100” KIMN holds steady at a 4.4 and Audacy’s “Alice 105.9” KALC is slightly up 4.3 to 4.4.
iHeartMedia’s recently rebranded CHR “Hits 95.7” KPTT rises 2.3 to 2.7 in its first full monthly to pull ahead of Audacy Rhythmic CHR “KS 107.5” KQKS (trending down 2.9 – 2.7 – 2.4). With its shift from CHR back to Hip Hop “Flo 107.1” taking place towards the end of the monthly, Max Media’s KFCO drops 0.6 to 0.4, but sister Rhythmic AC “Jammin 101.5” KJHM trends up 1.8 – 2.0 – 2.5.
iHeartMedia Country “106.7 The Bull” KWBL rises 2.5 to 3.2, although Alternative “Channel 93.3” KTCL trends down 4.1 – 3.5 – 3.0.
Radio One Adult R&B “Magic 95.9” WWIN-FM remains on top of Baltimore down 8.6 to 8.1. iHeartMedia Country 93.1 WPOC drops 6.8 to 6.3. Audacy AC “Today’s 101.9” WLIF moves up to third with a 5.3 to 6.2 gain. Hearst’s “98 Rock” WIYY rises 5.2 to 5.4, while Radio One Hip Hop “92Q” WERQ slips 5.5 to 5.3.
Audacy Sports “105.7 The Fan” WJZ-FM rises 3.7 to 4.5. Howard University Adult R&B 96.3 WHUR Washington rises 3.3 to 4.1. Jazz 89.9 WEAA trends up 1.6 – 1.9 – 2.7. Moving down in Baltimore are Shamrock Classic Rock “100.7 The Bay” WZBA (4.7 to 3.2) and iHeartMedia CHR “Z104.3” WZFT (3.8 to 3.1).
Hubbard Classic Rock 94.7 KSHE St. Louis slips 12.8 to 11.1 but still holds its over 3 share point lead in the market. Audacy AC 102.5 KEZK rises to second up 6.5 to 7.4. Gateway Creative Broadcasting Christian AC “99.1 Joy-FM” KLJY drops 7.7 to 7.1. Hubbard Variety Hits “106.5 The Arch” WARH drops 7.1 to 7.0. iHeartMedia Classic Hits 103.3 KLOU is down 6.5 to 6.3.
Audacy Hot AC “Y98” KYKY trends up 3.9 – 4.0 – 4.6, while Hubbard Country 92.3 WIL is up 3.7 – 4.0 – 4.3.
In its final monthly before its flip to Conservative Talk, iHeartMedia Adult R&B “Majic 104.9” KMJM dips 2.3 to 2.1.
