Audio 1 Launches Mason Dixon’s Generation 80s

Audio 1 has announced it will launch “Mason Dixon’s Generation 80s” into national syndication.

Hosted by the longtime Tampa Bay are personality, the show currently airs on Beasley Media Group Classic Hits “Q105” WRBQ.

Dixon worked at the then Top 40 from 1978 until 1990 where he developed the Morning Zoo format with then PD/co-host Scott Shannon. Dixon would then spend time at 95.7 WMTX, 100.7 WAKS, and 92.5 WYUU before moving with the format back to WRBQ in 2002 with a long stint as Program Director. He moved from mornings to afternoons in 2020, was laid-off in October 2022 before returning in a part-time role a couple of weeks later.

Audio 1 is proud to announce the signing of the powerhouse 80’s Retro Music Show “Mason Dixon Generation 80’s” for national distribution. The highly successful show is currently broadcast on the Legendary Q105 radio station in Tampa Florida, but now will be available coast to coast courtesy of Audio 1 Distribution.

Mason Dixon Generation 80’s is about the great music of the 80’s. This is a music intensive weekend show where Mason gets to not only play these great songs but tell some fun stories about the music and artists from his years of breaking most of these songs at Q105. Mason is not only the air personality but a programmer as well he produces a people meter friendly show that plays a lot of back to back music adding his great stories like a blimp ride with Rod Stewart or Billy Ocean singing in the legendary Bern’s Steakhouse in Tampa and so much more.

Mason Dixon Generation 80’s has been running since Jan. 2023 on Q105 Sat. mornings to top 5 ratings with a few number 1’s as well. Audio 1 has now taken on the rights to distribute the show to all markets across the country.  Based in Dallas, TX, Audio 1 already represents several talk and music products.

The show will continue to air on Q105 Saturday Mornings from 7am to 10am (Eastern).  But Stations coast to coast will be able to run it live or repurpose it for another time over the weekend.
