Audacy To Launch Radio Libre 790 Miami

Audacy Entercom Radio.comAnd now the reasons behind the consolidation of all of Audacy’s Sports programming in South Florida has become known. Audacy Sports “790 The Ticket” WAXY South Miami will flip to Spanish Conservative Talk “Radio Libre” on Monday, October 3.

The new brand will utilize programming from Americano Media, which will move from SiriusXM (channel 153) to WAXY, while continuing to operate its streaming television network. Americano Media founder and CEO Ivan Garcia-Hidalgo told NBC News, “This is the first of many terrestrial radio syndication agreements for Americano, and we look forward to a strong partnership with Audacy.”

In a statement to NBC News, Audacy Regional President Claudia Menegus said, “We’re proud to introduce Spanish radio to our South Florida portfolio for the first time ever and empower the voice of so many of our neighbors in this community. With the launch of this station, we aim to not only serve our listeners but give them a reliable home for the news they seek and the information they rely on every day.”

Audacy began the dissolution of the “Ticket” brand last October when most of its local programming lineup shifted to sister 560 WQAM. In August it was announced that the NBA’s Miami Heat play-by-play would move from 790 to 560 and last week it was reported that the last remaining local show on WAXY, morning hosts Brendan Tobin and Leroy Hoard would move to middays on WQAM replacing Jonathan Zaslow.
