RadioInsight Exclusive: As the $15.5 million sale of 94.1 WLFP Germantown/Memphis TN and 102.5 WTSS Buffalo NY to Educational Media Foundation comes closer to closing, we know now the transition plan for Memphis.
The format of Country “94.1 The Wolf” WLFP will relocate to 99.7 WMC-FM on Monday, June 12 at 12:00pm. The move of the Country format will follow a six hour farewell show for Hot AC “FM 100” in which current and former staffers will appear.
While a time for the demise of Hot AC “Star 102.5” WTSS Buffalo NY has not yet been announced, Educational Media Foundation has applied to move the WBKV call letters from its current Buffalo “K-Love” affiliate to 102.5. That station on 89.9 Buffalo will become WBWA as it will move over to the Worship “Air 1” network. It is likely, but not yet confirmed, that EMF’s takeover of both WLFP and WTSS will happen around midnight on the 16th. Audacy has been running promos on WTSS redirecting listeners to sister CHR “Kiss 98.5” WKSE Niagara Falls.
