Audacy Sells WLFP Memphis & WTSS Buffalo To Educational Media Foundation

Educational Media Foundation K-Love Air1 WTA GroupThe two stations held in Audacy’s Audacy Atlas divestment holding company have been sold to Educational Media Foundation.

EMF will pay $15.5 million for Hot AC “Star 102.5” WTSS Buffalo NY and Country “94.1 The Wolf” WLFP Germantown/Memphis TN.

EMF’s “K-Love” is currently heard in Memphis on 94.9 WKVP Bartlett, while “Air 1” is on 96.7 W244BY/WKVP-HD2 and Flinn’s 96.1 WIVG Tunica MS.

WLFP is tied for thirteenth in the Memphis market with a 2.7 share. Audacy retains Sports “92.9 ESPN” 680 WMFS/92.9 WMFS-FM, Sports “ESPN 790” WMC, Hot AC “FM 100” WMC-FM, and AC “104.5 The River” WRVR.

EMF currently programs “K-Love” on rimshot 89.9 WBKV Buffalo.

WTSS currently ranks fifth in the Buffalo market with a 6.7 share. Audacy retains CHR “Kiss 98.5” WKSE, Country “107.7/104.7 The Wolf” WLKK, Sports 550 WGR, News/Talk 930 WBEN, R&B Oldies “Classic R&B 107.3” 1400 WWWS, Sports Betting “1520 The Bet” WWKB in the Buffalo market.

Unlike most EMF deals, the specifics as to the intellectual properties of the stations are being withheld in a non-public portion of the contract. This could be either to allow Audacy to transfer the IP and brands of the stations to other stations they own in the market or for EMF to resell the stations.
