Audacy Sells Las Vegas Tower Site For $40 Million; Houston Site For $15.6 Million

Audacy Entercom Radio.comIn its quarterly earnings report released today, Audacy announced it has sold its 36.4 acre tower site in North Las Vegas for $40 million.

The site currently houses Audacy’s Sports Betting “1140 The Bet” KXST North Las Vegas and Beasley Media’s Talk 720 KDWN Las Vegas. It also houses an auxiliary tower for Audacy’s five current FM licenses in the Las Vegas market. The earnings filing confirms that the real estate deal was the reasoning between last month’s swap of Alternative “Alt 107.5” KXTE Pahrump to Beasley for KDWN and 101.5 K268CS Las Vegas.

The site, which until the past couple of years was located in desert land near Nellis Air Force Base and Las Vegas Motor Speedway, has been rapidly built up with warehouse development. Three sides of the now-former Audacy property are now surrounded by Amazon warehouses. One complex constructed in recent years was sold this summer for $271 million.

KDWN itself only moved to the site in 2020 after its former site in Henderson was sold to housing developers. No filings have been made to the FCC to relocate any of the stations yet.

Audacy also announced the completion of the sale of its four tower site of “Sports Radio 610” KILT Houston for $15.6 million. KILT holds a Construction Permit to relocate and diplex at the site utilized by Salem’s 1070 KNTH Houston operating with 2.7kW day and 2.5kW night using six of the eleven towers on KNTH’s array downgrading from its current 5kw day and night operation.
