Audacy Officially Launches The Ed Lover Experience In Five Markets

Ed Lover Experience Audacy 104.3 102 Jams 94.7 The BlockAfter moving off of mornings at “104.3 Jams” WBMX Chicago last month, James ‘Ed Lover’ Roberts will debut the syndicated “Ed Lover Experience” on five Audacy Classic Hip Hop stations.

Lover’s show will launch on Monday, October 17 in evenings on “94.7 The Block” WXBK Newark/New York from 7-10pm where he has been tracking since March, “104.3 Jams” from 8pm to 12am, “102 Jams” KRBQ San Francisco and “Q100.5” KXQQ Las Vegas from 7-10pm, and in middays on “Hot 103.7” KHTP Seattle from 10am to 2pm.

Lover, who is best known for his run co-hosting “Yo! MTV Raps” and in mornings at “Hot 97” WQHT New York with the other Doctor Dre in the 1990s, also anchored an Atlanta based syndicated show for Radio One from 2015 until the end of 2017. He joined Audacy to host mornings at WBMX in March 2018.

Audacy (NYSE: AUD) announced the launch of “The Ed Lover Experience” starring on-air host Ed Lover. The nationally syndicated program, which launches October 17, will be heard in various dayparts on 104.3 Jams (WBMX-FM) in Chicago, Q100.5 (KXQQ-FM) in Las Vegas, 94.7 The Block (WXBK-FM) in New York, 102 Jams (KRBQ-FM) in San Francisco and HOT 103.7 (KHTP-FM) in Seattle.

On “The Ed Lover Experience,” Lover brings his humor, stories, and his philosophy to Audacy’s classic hip-hop brands. The show will also feature music key to each respective market during talk breaks.

James “Ed Lover” Roberts launched his career in hip-hop as one of the original hosts of “Yo! MTV Raps!” on MTV, internationalizing and establishing the now iconic genre of music known as hip-hop around the globe. In 1993 Ed Lover along with his partner and friend Doctor Dre dove into morning radio becoming the first all hip-hop morning show on the all hip-hop FM station HOT 97 in New York City. In 1999, Ed Lover left Hot 97 to reunite with Doctor Dre on LA’s 92.3 The Beat. Two years later, Ed Lover returned home to New York to become an original on-air talent for hip-hop and R&B station Power 105.1. In 2010, Ed Lover hosted “Backspin” on SiriusXM satellite radio before launching was his syndicated morning show, “The Ed Lover Show with Monie Love,” in 2016. In addition to radio, he also does stand-up comedy around the country opening for, sharing the stage with some of the biggest names is comedy; has co-starred in several movies and TV shows, and is the host of C’mon Son, a weekly podcast available on all podcast platforms. He joined Audacy’s 94.7 The Block (WBMX-FM) in March 2022 as evening host.
