Audacy Introduces Emma To Seattle

Emma 94.1 The Sound KSWD SeattleAudacy has flipped Soft AC “94.1 The Sound” KSWD Seattle to Hot AC “Emma 94.1“.

As first indicated in our 8/31 Domain Insight, the new format returns Hot AC to Seattle after Lotus’ flip of “Star 101.5” KPLZ-FM to Classic Country on April 1. The station is promoting a playlist of the 1990s through now with core artists such as Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, Pink, and Taylor Swift.

Eric Powers will serve as Brand Manager for the new station. Powers also hosts afternoons and previously programmed Rhythmic Throwbacks “Hot 103.7” KHTP since 2017. He has spent his entire career in Seattle starting at Nathan Hale High School’s “C89.5” KNHC. After a stint at Alternative “107.7 The End” KNDD he joined Rhythmic CHR 93.3 KUBE in 1992 and rose to PD in 1998 until exiting with its flip to CHR “Power 93.3” in January 2016. He also programmed CHR “106.1 Kiss-FM” KBKS for a time during his tenure at KUBE.

Audacy Regional President Dave Pugh said, “Serving Seattle’s best variety from the 90s, 2000s and today, Emma 94.1 is more than just a radio station; it’s a lifestyle, a soundtrack and a community. We’re excited to connect with the heart of the Pacific Northwest and give them a home for a unique blend of music they won’t hear anywhere else.”
