FM100 FM 100 99.7 WMC-FM Memphis Ron Olson Karen PerrinIn a staff memo from SVP/Market Manager Dan Barron first shared by AllAccess, the company notes, “”EMF’s possession of 94.1 will take place approximately 90 days from the April 7 filing. What’s next? Well, ladies and gentleman, we’re NOT getting out of the Country radio business. In fact, we are DOUBLING down. WLFP, WOLF 94.1 will move up the radio dial to 99.7 and become WOLF 99.7 … Moving forward, WOLF 99.7 will broadcast through 300,000 watts on 99.7 vs. 50kw on 94.1. 300,000 watts of Country music, covering Memphis and the surrounding Mid-South. Unfortunately, with this move, we will be sunsetting WMC-FM 100 to make room for WOLF 99.7. While this is a very tough decision, going forward we are in the best position to serve our listeners and advertisers with the operation of three dominant, distinct brands: #1 AC (WRVR), #1 Sports (WMFS) and #1 Country (WLFP).”

Current WMC-FM morning co-host Erin Austin will move to a 10am-1pm shift on The Wolf. Prior to joining WMC-FM in April 2021, Austin served as midday host and Assistant Music Director for Country “100.3 The Bull” KILT-FM Houston for eleven years and has also worked at Country stations including KUPL Portland, KSD St. Louis, and KASE Austin.

WLFP is the lowest rated of Audacy’s four FMs in the Memphis market tied for thirteenth in the Memphis market with a 2.7 share whereas WGKX is tenth with a 3.7 share. “FM 100” 99.7 WMC-FM currently has a 6.0 share.
