Audacy has announced it has signed Josh ‘Bru’ Brubaker to a multi-year contract extension.
The Los Angeles based Brubaker joined Audacy in March 2021 as afternoon host at now-defunct CHR “97.1 Amp” KAMP Los Angeles. He would quickly go national hosting either afternoons or nights on all but one of the company’s CHR stations including WBBM-FM Chicago, WPOW Miami, KALV Phoenix and WTDY-FM Philadelphia. He also hosts a Sunday night show on all of Audacy’s Country stations.
Prior to joining Audacy, Brubaker began his career at WLEW Bad Axe MI and then joined Cumulus Media’s WQQO Toledo and then served as Creative Services Director and afternoon host at “New Country 93.1” WDRQ Detroit.
Audacy announced a multiyear contract extension with radio and multi-media personality Joshua “Bru” Brubaker. Bru hosts his daily radio show on B96 (WBBM-FM) in Chicago, Power 96 (WPOW-FM) in Miami, Live 101.5 (KALV-FM) in Phoenix, and 15 other Audacy brands from a street-level studio in Los Angeles, CA. He also hosts the weekly national “Country Sunday Nights” show across Audacy’s portfolio of country brands.
“We are so excited to continue the partnership between Audacy and Bru,” said Jeff Sottolano, executive vice president of programming, Audacy. “His enthusiastic personality shines through on the air, in video, and across social platforms, and he has the ability to make any artist feel completely comfortable in his presence. He’s a total asset to our programmers and marketers across the company, and we look forward to watching him grow his network of followers across multiple platforms.”
“I am incredibly grateful to continue my relationship with Audacy,” said Bru. “These past couple of years have flown by. Their support and dedication to producing exceptional content have been inspiring, and I look forward to continuing our partnership for years to come. Thank you to David Field, Susan Larkin, Jeff Sottolano, Dave Richards, and the entire Audacy team for continuing to support and grow with my show!”
Through his daily show and national Sunday night program, Bru reaches over 1.6 million listeners every week. He has over 5 million followers across social platforms with 750,000,000 views. His career began on the small-town airwaves of Bad Axe, MI, before gaining major market success in Detroit. A rise to fame on TikTok followed, which crowned him the “CEO of Radio TikTok’” gaining recognition on the app from fellow stars like Lizzo, Charlie Puth, and Harry Styles.
His social and hosting prowess bridges the gap between celebrities and listeners daily. Bru’s relatability and relationship with stars and fans alike have landed him on many major market radio stations in America and red carpets for some of the most significant events in show business, such as The 2023 Grammy Awards, The 2023 Golden Globe Awards, and the 2022 Kennedy Center Honors.
