Audacy and Allen Media Group have today announced a content distribution partnership. Through this new partnership, Audacy will launch three new audio streams dedicated to three Allen Media Group weather and climate news networks: The Weather Channel television network, Pattrn and The Weather Channel en Español. Audacy users can now tune into the new streams on the Audacy app and website.
The Weather Channel stream will only be available during severe weather events as a live audio simulcast of The Weather Channel television network – America’s most trusted news brand – featuring the network’s best-in-class reporting from the nation’s most knowledgeable meteorologists. Rooted in science and technology, The Weather Channel stream will provide Audacy listeners with up-to-date information on severe weather.
The Pattrn stream will be a daily live audio simulcast of the Pattrn FAST channel, which explores climate, the environment and how the Earth is changing and elevates new voices to the conversation. The Pattrn stream will bring to Audacy listeners original reporting, mid-form series and feature-length documentaries created to inform, educate, inspire, and revel in the patterns of our amazing planet.
The Weather Channel en Español stream will be a daily live audio simulcast of The Weather Channel en Español network – the nation’s first 24/7 Spanish-language free-streaming weather news network. The Weather Channel en Español stream will provide Audacy listeners with Spanish-language weather and news reporting, including locally specific forecasting and storytelling across the U.S., the Caribbean and Latin America.
“Audio and radio are time-tested, reliable ways for listeners to access critical and potentially life-saving information during severe weather events,” said Tim Clarke, Senior Vice President, Digital Audio Content, Audacy. “This partnership will add a new layer to our best-in-class news content offering while expanding the reach of The Weather Channel’s broadcast weather coverage to Audacy app users across the country.”
“We’re excited to expand the footprint of our storytelling and life-saving news,” said Byron Allen, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Allen Media Group. “This partnership with Audacy will allow us to continue being a valuable resource for people wherever they are.”
