Hampshire-based community radio station Angel Radio is continuing its coverage expansion with the addition of carriage on the Now Digital Bournemouth DAB multiplex.
The vintage service is already available on FM in Portsmouth, plus DAB in West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Alderney, Jersey, Guernsey, Tynemouth, South Shields and London
Angel Radio’s Station Manager told Radio Today: “I wanted to continue to expand our coverage to enable more older people, and younger people who like vintage music, to hear Angel Radio.
“Going on the Dorset DAB multiplex was the obvious choice.
“We already have a lot of listeners on the western fringes of the South Hampshire multiplex, so DAB in Dorset links up perfectly and takes us into towns and cities with a high percentage of older people.”
The “Bournemouth” multiplex, operated by Arqiva, covers almost the entire county of Dorset following extra transmitters in Dorchester in 2015. It currently carries Angel Radio/Vintage, BBC Radio Solent, Absolute Country, Capital, Hits Radio, Greatest Hits Radio, Heart, Hot Gold, Hot Radio, Smooth Country, Smooth Radio and Wave 105.
