American General Media has appointed William ‘Billy’ Smith as General Manager of their Bakersfield CA cluster.
Smith joins American General Media from Hearst’ KCRA-TV Sacramento where he has served as Local Sales Manager since last March. He began his career at the AGM Bakersfield cluster as an Account Executive from 2002-2011. He then served as Marketing Director for Clear Channel Bakersfield, Sales Manager for Spectrum Reach in Los Angeles, and Director of Sales for News-Press Gazette’s KIFI-TV Twin Falls ID.
AGM Regional Manager Rich Watson said, “We were very lucky to have several excellent and well qualified candidates for this rare opening. Billy stood out among those candidates because of his passion for our business along with his experience both in Bakerfield and outside the market.
