Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston give away £1 million on Heart

A Heart listener, who is celebrating her 40th birthday today, has won one million pounds with Jamie and Amanda on Heart Breakfast.

Margaret Coetzer, who says she enters every single competition on Heart, took part in Heart’s Make Me A Millionaire in February and turned down £2000 to be in the final.

Ten finalists took part in the event live at Global HQ in London following a 12-week promotion and hundreds of winners.

Throughout this morning’s Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, finalists entered the ‘vault’ and chose a box, only one of which contained the prize.

All safety deposit boxes were securely sealed and kept under lock and key, with only the independent adjudicator aware of their contents.

Margaret was crowned the ultimate winner after selecting the winning box.

Jamie Theakston said: “We’re always so thrilled to be part of Heart’s Make Me a Millionaire and to celebrate Margaret becoming Heart’s newest millionaire, there’s nothing like it!

“To witness someone experiencing such a life-changing moment – as well as keeping the nation gripped with the most intense game on British radio – has been a massive thrill for the whole Heart team!”

Amanda Holden added: “My goodness, the winning moment never fails to make me and the entire Heart team very emotional! Seeing Margaret open that winning box was very exciting.

“It’s such an honour to be a part of the Make Me A Millionaire journey every year as we really feel the sheer joy from our lucky Heart listeners and what a positive impact the Daily Cash prize has on their lives. Congratulations to Margaret – the UK has another millionaire all thanks to Heart!”
