Alt 104.5 Philadelphia Revamps Lineup With Addition Of Jaxon’s Post-Modern Radio

iHeartMedia Alternative “Alt 104.5” WRFF Philadelphia is revamping its on-air lineup.

Assistant Program Director Amber Miller will move from nights back to her former midday timeslot hosting a split show from 10am to 12pm and 1-3pm. In between, the station will debut “Post-Modern Radio, 104.5” hosted by Jaxon from 12-1pm. The show will focus on Alternative music from the late 1980s through early 2000s. Jaxon, who will continue to host mornings at iHeart Classic Rock “Big 100” WBIG-FM Washington DC, spent 18 years in Philadelphia hosting afternoons on Rock 93.3 WMMR from 2004 until October 2022. He previously worked in Alternative co-hosting mornings on 101.7 WFNX Boston.

‘Jammin Jessie’ Sabella will move from middays to afternoons. Jessie has spent her entire career at the station rising from an intern to promotions assistant and weekend host before moving to nights in 2015. She and Miller traded timeslots in February 2022. Mike Jones, who has hosted afternoons at the station since 2012 from his base at “DC 101” WWDC Washington, will slide to evenings from 7pm to 12am.

The station describes the new “Post-Modern Radio” as “a destination for enthusiasts of Philadelphia’s rich alternative music heritage and will showcase Jaxon’s knowledge and passion for this iconic moment in music from the late 80s through the early 2000s. Listeners can expect a curated playlist peppered with artist stories and an exploration of the socio-cultural impact of this pivotal era in music history.”

Program Director Mike Kaplan states, “We’re all incredibly excited to welcome Jaxon back home to Philly and into the ALT 104.5 team. He’s got a proven track record of captivating audiences and a pure desire for the music and all things Philadelphia. Welcome home Jaxon!”

“I am beyond thrilled to be joining the incredibly talented team at Alt 104.5 in my beloved home of Philadelphia,” said Jaxon. “I’ve been a fan of 104.5 since their inception. I want to extend my gratitude to the iHeart team for their unwavering support in making this homecoming a reality. Philly, I’ve missed you terribly and I can’t wait to get started. Let’s do this!”
