Educational Media Foundation’s “Air1” has added a second signal in the Memphis area as it is now being heard on Flinn Broadcasting’s 96.1 WIVG Tunica MS.
WIVG, which rimshots Memphis from the south, joins 96.7 W244BY Memphis/94.9 WKVF-HD2 in carrying the Air1 programming. It becomes the second Flinn owned station in Mississippi this month to begin airing the network after 100.9 WJXN-FM Utica/Jackson, which switched on January 1 after Alpha Media’s LMA ended.
WIVG had been home to Classic Rock “Drake-FM“. Operated by longtime Memphis morning host Drake Hall, the “Drake-FM” brand debuted first on Flinn’s 87.7 WPGF-LP in January 2021 before moving to WIVG later that year. The station is now operating exclusively online promoting it is now “uncensored and unrestrained”.
