Bicoastal Media flipped Classic Hits “99.1 Kool-FM” KODZ Eugene OR to 90s/2000s Hits “99.1 The Beat” at midnight on Saturday.
Positioning as “100% Throwbacks”, the station is focusing on pop and rhythmic hits from the 1990s and 2000s. Mandy Beemer returns on air to host middays. Beemer has worked in sales at Bicoastal Media Eugene since 2010 and has previously held on-air roles at Rock 101.5 KFLY, Hot AC “Star 102.3” KEHK, and CHR 104.7 KDUK. KODZ’s current afternoon host Barry MacGuire remains in place. The station has dropped the Bob & Sheri morning show with the flip.
KODZ had trended downward in each of the past four Nielsen Audio surveys dropping from 4.8 in Spring 2021 to 4.1 to 3.6 to 3.1 in Fall 2022.
