Billy Vidal has exited his position as Brand Manager/morning host at Audacy Classic Hip Hop “Q102.1” KRBQ San Francisco to join Bonneville AC 96.5 KOIT and Adult R&B 102.9 KBLX in a dual role.
Vidal will host mornings on KOIT succeeding Joey Fortman, who exited earlier this month after just shy of two years in mornings. He will also host afternoons at KBLX. Vidal has spent his entire in San Francisco starting at 106.1 KMEL in 1987 eventually serving as Assistant Music Director, host and mixer prior to departing in 1996. He served as a weekend host at “Wild 94.9” KYLD from 1998-2000 before leaving radio until joining KRBQ shortly after its launch in 2014. He was appointed Music Director in 2017 and rose to Program Director of the station in April 2018.
With Vidal’s addition at KBLX, Nikki Thomas moves from afternoons to nights to host “The Quiet Storm”. That completes a lineup revamp that also saw Freska join Tony Sco and Rudy Ortiz’s “Dream Team” in mornings following the exit of ‘Kimmie Tee’ Taylor in October. Freska also continues to host middays at KOIT and afternoons on Classic Rock “98.5 K-Fox” KUFX San Jose.
