December 2021 (11/11 – 12/8) Nielsen Audio PPM Ratings Day 4: WQMG Sets A New High Mark

The fourth and final batch of Nielsen Audio’s PPM releases bring Austin, Raleigh/Durham, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Nashville, Providence, Norfolk, Jacksonville, Greensboro/Winston-Salem, West Palm Beach, Memphis, and Hartford.

Waterloo Media Variety Hits “103.5 Bob-FM” KBPA continues to lead Austin with an 8.0 to 8.7 gain. The two Country stations move in opposite directions with iHeartMedia’s 98.1 KVET-FM falling 7.7 to 6.4, while 100.7 KASE rises 3.3 to 4.1. Genuine Austin Radio Sports “104.9 The Horn” KTXX-FM trends up 1.9 – 2.0 – 2.4.

Public News/Talk 91.5 WUNC-FM remains in the lead in Raleigh rising 8.1 to 8.5. The Christmas music stunting on 95.3 W237BZ/95.1 W236CA pays off as the former “Alt 95.3” rises 1.0 to 2.3.

After surging to a record high last month, Emmis Sports “The Fan 93.5/107.5” WIBC-HD2 falls 7.5 to 4.2.

With three stations splitting the Christmas music audience, iHeartMedia Conservative Talk 1130 WISN continues to lead Milwaukee holding at a 10.3 share. Saga Classic Rock “Hometown Rock 96.5” WKLH rises 7.6 to 8.2.

The Milwaukee Hip Hop battle tightens as Audacy’s “Hot 105.7” W289CB/WXSS-HD2 jumps up 0.6 to 2.2, while iHeartMedia’s “V100.7” WKKV dips 3.1 to 2.9.

iHeartMedia Classic Rock “105.9 The Rock” WNRQ Nashville drops from third to tenth down 7.0 to 4.8. Also trending down are iHeartMedia CHR “107.5 The River” WRVW (6.4 – 5.7 – 4.5) and Cumulus Country “103.3 Country” WKDF (3.7 – 3.2 – 2.7). Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes that is the lowest share for 103.3 since it was Rock WKDA-FM in 1971!

iHeartMedia Rock 94.1 WHJY holds onto its Providence lead slipping 11.3 to 10.5.

Audacy Adult R&B “95.7 R&B” WVKL retains its Norfolk market lead dropping 11.0 to 10.2. Sinclair Variety Hits “93.7 Bob-FM” WNOB trends down 8.4 – 7.0 – 5.4.

iHeartMedia Country 99.1 WQIK Jacksonville jumps up 6.8 to 7.8 for what Huff notes is its highest mark since April 2018.

Despite WMAG’s surge, Audacy Adult R&B 97.1 WQMG Greensboro rises 12.1 to 13.0 for what Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes is the largest share in station history. Public News/Talk 88.5 WFDD trends up 2.9 – 3.7 – 4.1.

iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Gater 98.7” WKGR West Palm Beach jumps up 5.4 to 6.7, while sister AC “Kool 105.5” WOLL falls 7.6 to 5.3.

The Adult R&B duo of iHeartMedia’s “V101” KJMS (12.0 to 11.3) and Cumulus’ 103.5 WRBO (9.2 to 10.5) remain atop of Memphis.
