Zelus Media Group Hip Hop “Power 98.3” KKFR Mayer/Phoenix AZ has announced the promotion of afternoon host Deongello ‘Gello’ Vanorsby to Assistant Program Director.
Gello is on his third stint at the station. He originally worked at the station from 2010 to 2015 with time in nights, afternoons and mornings. After time at 101.1 KNRJ and “105.1 The Bounce” WMGC Detroit, he would return to KKFR first as a remote voicetracker in 2020 before moving back to Phoenix in 2021. He moved to mornings at Hot AC “Hot 97.5/103.9” KMVA/KZON in July 2023 before returning to KKFR last September.
Program Director Jonathan ‘J’ Steele said, “Gello is such an important piece of Power. His charisma, leadership, and dedication to our community contribute to the success of our brand. Having someone on the programming team who understands the mission and execution is key to our success, and no one gets it better than Gello.”
Gello commented, “Yessir! After 17 years in radio, I’m thrilled to step into this new role as Assistant Program Director. It’s been an incredible journey filled with highs and lows, and I can’t wait to make an even bigger impact. Here’s to new adventures and the magic of radio!”
