Cumulus Media has made morning show changes at two of its Albuquerque stations.
After over sixteen years co-hosting the “Carlos & Kiki Show” on CHR “93.3 The Q” KOBQ, Kiki Garcia moved to AC “Magic 99.5” KMGA at the start of the year. Remote tracker Megan Marie had been hosting mornings on KMGA since last September when the station dropped the syndicated Bob & Sheri Show.
Garica commented, “I’m beyond excited to be part of such a heritage station as Magic 99.5. My goal is to inspire, uplift, and bring people together. Whether listening for the great music, meaningful conversation, or just a little laughter, I want everyone to feel a part of the Magic family, making every morning a little brighter…together!”
KMGA Program Director Chris Hoffman said, “Kiki Garcia is absolutely the ideal choice for Mornings on Magic 99.5. Listening to Kiki is like waking up with your bestie. Her feel- good energy coming out of the speakers makes everyone’s day better.”
Cumulus Albuquerque Market Manager Jeff Berry added, “I have worked with Kiki since 2006, and she is a total pro. Her smile and positive attitude are contagious in the building, and perfect for Magic. I am so excited to see her take on this new role and help Magic regain its dominance in Albuquerque”.
With Garcia’s move to KMGA, Leah Black returns to the station to join Carlos Durán. Black previously worked at what was then 93.3 KOB-FM as morning co-host and then afternoon host as ‘Sassypants’ in the early and mid-2000s as well as a stint co-hosting mornings at then-Alternative “103.3 The Zone” KTZO between 2002 and 2011. She also spent time previously to arriving in Albuquerque in multiple roles at 106.7 KBPI Denver.
