Midwest Communications Classic Rock “Cruisin 92.9” WLMI Grand Ledge/Lansing MI has added Danny Stewart as midday host.
Stewart had been a stalwart in his hometown from 1976 until his then-retirement in January 2023. He began his career at 1320 WILS from 1976-77 followed by a fourteen year run at 94.9 WVIC from 1977 to 1991. He would then join AC 99.1 WFMK where he would remain until his retirement.
Midwest Lansing Operations Manager Terry Stevens commented, “Danny Stewart is a local legend on Lansing’s airwaves. After retiring from the operation across the street, he realized that radio was still very much in his blood. He also realized that our Classic Rock Hits station, Cruisin’ 92.9 had become his favorite station. He reached out about the possibility of joining our airstaff. He loved the Midwest Communications approach to radio in 2024 and we loved the idea of him being a part of it, and here we are!”
Market Manager Mark Jaycox added, “We believe that the strength of local radio lies not only in playing the right music that audiences want to hear, but that we have on-air talent that can relate with everyday folks who live, work and play in this market. Danny will join a team of radio pros who have worked hard to build listener trust and create an enjoyable listening experience.”
