Niko Petrou will return to mornings at Audacy Country 107.9 KMLE Chandler/Phoenix AZ to join incumbent co-host Cheyenne Davis starting Wednesday, January 15.
Petrou previously co-hosted “The Breakfast Buzz” on KMLE from February 2018 until February 2019 when he moved to mornings at sister Classic Hits 94.5 KOOL-FM. He moved to afternoons when the station relaunched as “Big 94.5” in September 2022 and will also continue in that role. Prior to Phoenix, Petrou worked at CHR “Channel 95.5” WKQI Detroit and at multiple stations in New York including two stints at “Z100” WHTZ including hosting nights, APD/MD/midday host at “92.3 Amp Radio” WBMP, and Dance “Pulse 87” WNYZ-LP.
Davis joined KMLE in December 2019 along with Gunner Jackson. The duo had come together from Townsquare Media Country “92.9 The Bull” KDBL Yakima WA where Jackson discovered her the year before working at a local gym. Jackson exited KMLE in November.
Audacy Phoenix SVP/Market Manager Dave Pugh commented, “We’re thrilled to bring Niko back to KMLE Country 107.9’s morning show. Niko and Cheyenne have built a great rapport with the local community and connecting with listeners is at the core of what they do. With the duo’s love for Phoenix and enthusiastic nature, we can’t wait to see how the morning show evolves.”
Niko said, “I’ve always felt that KMLE Nation and I had some unfinished business and now I can’t wait to team up with superhero Cheyenne and producer Abe Maney. I can’t wait to spread the KMLE love throughout the best city in the world. Grab a hump and hang on!”
Davis added, “I am so excited to continue this morning’s radio journey, joining forces with Niko to activate our local fans and ensure that KMLE Country 107.9 is the dominant country brand in The Valley. A collective thanks to Dave Pugh, Dave Richards, Jeff Sottolano, Drew Bland and Audacy leadership for their support in this next chapter.”
