Lotus Communications has announced the promotion of Brian Calvert to Program Director of “Northwest News Radio” 1000 KNWN Seattle/97.7 KNWN-FM Oakville WA.
Calvert, who currently co-anchors mornings at the station, has been with it since its flip to all-News in 2002. During his tenure he has held roles including Director of News and Programming, Morning News Anchor, Host & Executive Producer, and Reporter. In his new role, Calvert will oversee station programming, manage on-air talent, and collaborate with sales and marketing teams to ensure the station continues to meet its goals and deliver value to its listeners.
In addition to his time at the radio side, Calvert also previously was a reporter and weather anchor for former sisters KOMO-TV and Northwest Cable News. His “The Northwest Channel” has produced multiple television and audio series that he hosted including Northwest Wine Radio and Northwest Game Night. He began his career at KAJO Grants Pass OR and later served as morning news anchor at KXL Portland and was an anchor/reporter at KIRO Seattle prior to joining KOMO.
