Union Broadcasting Sports 810 WHB Kansas City will add an FM simulcast on Cumulus Media’s 103.7 K279BI Kansas City.
W279BI had served as the FM home of Cumulus’ Conservative Talk 710 KCMO but had become redundant following the addition of that station’s simulcast on 95.7 KCHZ Ottawa KS in October 2023. The 250 watt translator covers all of Kansas City proper and its adjoining suburbs.
Union Broadcasting President/General Manager Chad Boeger commented, “Sports Radio 810 WHB is an iconic Kansas City brand. It’s bigger than a FM or AM radio station. We are locally owned and operated, dedicated to promoting sports throughout the Midwest. The addition of 103.7 FM is a strategic extension of Sports Radio 810 WHB. This move provides yet another way for our dedicated listeners to connect with the biggest games, breaking news, and the hosts and teams they love, from national headlines to local favorites, all from Kansas City’s sports media destination. We thank Donna Baker and Cumulus Media. We have been working well over a year on this long-term partnership.”
Cumulus Media Regional Vice President Donna Baker added, “We are excited to partner with Sports Radio 810 WHB to bring this powerful simulcast to 103.7 FM.”
WHB features local programming from 6am to 6pm weekdays and ESPN Radio network programming at night along with extensive play-by-play coverage including Westwood One’s NFL and NCAA content and local coverage from University of Kansas, Sporting Kansas City, Kansas Speedway, Kansas City Monarchs, UMKC Kangaroos, Pittsburg State Gorilla football, Kansas City’s High School Football Game of the Week, and the Kansas City Mavericks and Kansas City Comets.
The addition of the 103.7 translator for WHB follows Audacy’s move of the former “610 Sports” KCSP to FM in August when it rebranded as “96.5 The Fan” KFNZ-FM.
