After its sale to Davis Media collapsed in May, the Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee for JAM Media Solutions has found a buyer for two of its four stations in Eastern North Carolina.
Lawrence & Margaret Loesch’s East Carolina Radio Inc. proposes to acquire the licenses of Silent 92.3 WZPR Nags Head and 104.1 WCXL Kill Devil Hill as well as their OBXToday.com for $70,000. Already approved by the bankruptcy court, the deal will require an FCC waiver to allow for the consummation of the stations while being over the ownership limits. The buyers state that they will not commence permanent operation of the stations until they are relocated and have imminent filings that will resolve the contour overlap bringing them into compliance. WCXL lost its tower site last April so they have a deadline of April 30, 2025 to ensure the new facilities are built. WZPR went silent in August.
The two signals will join East Carolina Radio’s nine existing stations in northeastern North Carolina: Classic Rock “Pirate Radio 95.3” WOBR-FM Wanchese, AC “96.7 The Coast” WKJX Elizabeth City, AAA “98.1 The OBX” WOBX-FM Manteo, Classic Hits “102.5 The Shark” WERX-FM Columbia, Adult R&B “104.9 The Block” WFMZ Hertford, Country “Dixie 105.7” WRSF Columbia, Conservative Talk 1240 WCNC Elizabeth City, Classic Country 1260 WZBO Edenton, Sports “1530/103.3 The Score” WOBX/W277DO Wanchese as well as a number of low-power television signals.
JAM Media Solutions retains the licenses for 94.5 WCMS Hatteras and 99.1 WVOD Manteo as well as Classic Country 860 KWPC/95.1 K236CF and Rock 93.1 KMCS Muscatine IA, which will soon be sold to a local buyer.
Dan Reaves’ News Talk West Tennessee LLC sells “News Talk West TN” 96.5 WBFG Parkers Crossroads TN to Terry Story’s Golden Media Group LLC. Golden Media Group will pay $100,000 to Crossroads Broadcasting for the forgiveness of $462,500 lien on the station from Reaves’ $500,000 purchase of the station in September 2022. Reaves had sold shares in the station in January with Stephanie Friedrich acquiring 30% for $150,000 and Gina Langley 5% for $50,000.
With the sale, WBFG rebranded as “Talk’n West Tennessee” earlier this month along with 1310 WDXI Jackson/103.5 W278CL Savannah TN, which was sold to LMS Group in September with Story owning 50%.
Spirit Communications acquires Christian 88.9 WLRY Rushville OH from Arcangel Broadcasting Foundation for $168,000. The buyer owns adjacent channel Christian Rock “Radio U” 88.7 WUFM Columbus.
The Estate of Roy William Jaynes’ Summer Rose Broadcasting sells 94.3 WLEL Ellaville GA to Steven Lara’s Gorilla Broadcasting ATL for $160,000. Gorilla had begun operating the station in August 2021 via Time Brokerage Agreement as Regional Mexican “El Gallo“.

The Family Radio Network has agreed to purchase 92.9 W225CP Milwaukee from Tomsun Media for $320,000. W225CP will become the Wisconsin Christian network’s second Milwaukee area translator as the company closed on its $850,000 purchase of “Smooth Jazz 102.5” 1460 WJTI West Allis/W273DQ Milwaukee from El Sol Broadcasting with new WEMK calls taking effect today.
Family First purchases 106.9 W295AF La Porte IN from Family Stations for $15,000. The deal continues to list Family Stations’ 91.9 WJCH Joliet IL as its parent signal.
