Guaranty Media has promoted Classic Rock “Eagle 98.1” WDGL Baton Rouge PD/afternoon host Michelle Southern to Operations manager for their cluster.
Southern adds operational oversight of Country “100.7 The Tiger” WTGE Baton Rouge, Sports “ESPN 104.5” WNXX Jackson/104.9 KNXX Donaldsonville and “Talk 107.3” WBRP Baker. She began her career in 1998 at KNOE Monroe LA before arriving in Baton Rouge the following year spending seven years at the then Citadel Broadcasting cluster where she would eventually rise to PD of AC “Diva 103.3” WCDV. She would join Guaranty for the first time in 2006 spending nearly four years co-hosting mornings at what was then “Y100” WYPY. After a seven year run at Louisiana Radio Network as an anchor, reporter and Assistant News Director, Southern returned to Guaranty in August 2017 to host afternoons on WDGL. She would rise to cluster Creative Services Director the following year and was named Program Director in January 2022.

Southern will now be responsible for leading Guaranty’s strategic efforts both in radio and emerging technologies. She will also oversee the radio stations’ marketing efforts as well as the hiring and management of the group’s talent. She commented, “My love for radio has been a constant in my life. And it’s a privilege to share my passion with that of the mission of Guaranty Corporation, especially as we approach our 100-year anniversary. I’m honored to be able to contribute to that legacy.”
