Akron Public Schools AAA “The Summit” 91.3 WAPS-FM Akron/90.7 WKTL Struthers/Youngstown OH has expanded to a third market.
The Summit has launched on 90.1 W211BT Athens OH following closing of the $30,000 acquisition of the translator from Spirit Communications. The deal expands the AAA brand to the home of Ohio University.

On Friday (11/5) Akron Public Schools’ Noncomm AAA WAPS-FM “The Summit” launched a new translator signal in the college town of Athens, Ohio. 90.1 FM W211BT is now simulcasting The Summit, 24/7.
Athens is the home of Ohio University, and the bands Caamp, Red Wanting Blue, Jorma Kaukonen, and Jonathan Edwards. PD Brad Savage said, “We are very excited to expand The Summit brand and bring our eclectic music programming to another world-class city in Ohio.”
WAPS is also heard on 90.7 FM WKTL/Struthers-Youngstown, OH. The translator was acquired from seller Spirit Communications and WUFM/Columbus, who operate a Christian Rock/Alternative format known as “Radio U”. Radio U continues to be heard in Columbus and on several regional translators.
