After flipping Classical “K-Mozart” 1260 KMZT Beverly Hills/Los Angeles to Classic Country earlier this fall, Mount Wilson FM Broadcasters has taken the brand’s remaining signals and has gone all-Christmas.
105.1 KKGO-HD2 and 98.3 K252FO Los Angeles are now running a playlist of holiday standards through December 31. The translator covers the majority of Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley such as Canoga Park, Encino, North Hollywood, Northridge, and Van Nuys. In previous years, the company did all-Christmas on “Go Country 105” KKGO-FM from after Thanksgiving until Christmas. iHeartMedia AC 103.5 KOST is the usual market leader with Christmas music in Los Angeles.
As to why they started on October 25, Mount Wilson FM Broadcasters owner Saul Levine told the LA Daily News, “We want to get a jump on the competition.”
KKGO-HD2/K252FO was not the first station in the country to go all-Christmas as New Albany Broadcasting Company’s 1570 WLRS New Albany IN and 92.5 W223DK Louisville KY began so on October 11.
