Longport Media flipped Sports Betting 1490 WBSS Pleasantville/Atlantic City NJ to Regional Mexican “El Jefe 1490” last month.
The station is carrying Univision’s “El Bueno, La Mala y El Feo” from 7am to 1pm and “El Free Guey” from 4-9pm. The “El Jefe” branding comes from the WBSS call letters as ‘jefe’ translates to ‘boss’. The calls were best known in the market on CHR “Boss 97” in the early 1990s.
WBSS had been one of the launch affiliates for VSiN when it debuted what was then the “BetR Network” in July 2019.
