With Great Eastern Radio beginning its LMA of Classic Country “97.9 The Moose” WXMS Au Sable NY/Burlington VT ahead of its purchase of the station, the station has become the first station to shift to Christmas Music for the 2021 holiday season.
Billed as “Champlain Valley’s Holiday Music Station”, 97.9 WXMS will run commercial-free through Christmas before debuting “a BIG surprise present for your radio dial”.
This marks a later start to the Christmas music season than 2020, when “Z104” WWIZ Middlesex PA/Youngstown OH made the move on September 25. WWIZ was also first in 2019, but did not make the switch to “Christmas 104” until October 25 that year.
