New England veteran Stella Mars is joining Binnie Media as Regional Director of Operations for its Maine stations overseeing Soft AC “99.3 The Wave” WBQQ Kennebunk, Country “99.9 The Wolf” WTHT Auburn/Portland, Country “105.5 The Wolf” WBYA Islesboro/Belfast, Classic Rock “106.3 The Bone” WHXR Scarborough/Portland, Classic Hits “106.9 Frank-FM” WBQX Thomaston/Belfast, and Classic Hits “107.5 Frank-FM” WFNK Lewiston/Portland.
Mars joins Binnie Media from Maine Public where she spent the past three years as a host and producer. With an on-air and programming career dating back to starting at WBLM Portland in the mid 80’s, Mars held on-air and Music Director roles at 92.9 WBOS and 94.5 WZOU Boston, on-air roles at 90.9 WBUR, 93.7 WEGQ/WQSX, 98.5 WBMX, 105.7 WROR and 106.7 WMJX Boston, 105.1 WWLI Providence and 103.5 KOST Los Angeles, MD/morning host at WERZ Portsmouth NH, and Production and Creative Services Director for Greater Media Boston.
Industry veteran Stella Mars will join Binnie Media as Regional Director of Operations for Maine effective January 29th. Binnie boasts several top stations in the Portland area including WFNK 107.5 Frank-FM (Classic Hits), WTHT 99.9 The Wolf (Country), WHXR 106.3 The Bone (Rock), and our newest station WBQQ 93.3 The Wave (Soft Rock).
Mars worked in Portland before making the move to Boston and then Los Angeles. “This is a dream come true. I began my career on 107.5 in Portland. To return to the frequency is really a homecoming of sorts. I’m grateful to Binnie President Massimo Rosati and VP of Programming Heath Cole for their confidence in me and I’m looking forward to working with an amazing group of professionals!”
Stella has a long list of accomplishments including accolades for Air Personality of the Year, Commercial of the Year, and a World Airline Entertainment Award for a show she wrote and hosted on American Airlines.
