Longtime Phoenix Star SuperSnake Passes Away

Longtime air personality Duane ‘SuperSnake’ Weaver passed away earlier today.

Known mostly for his long runs in the Phoenix market, SuperSnake had been hosting nights at Desert Valley Media Group Rhythmic Hot AC “Hot 97.5/103.9” KMVA/KZON since October 2022. He was best known for his near-decade long run at “Power 92” KKFR Phoenix and has also worked in the market at “101.5 Jamz” KZON, “Party 103.9” KPTY and “104.7 Kiss-FM” KZZP and programming Sierra H Broadcasting’s Hip Hop “101.1 The Beat” KNRJ and Rhythmic AC “Mega 104.3” KAJM.

After beginning his career at 1230 KGFJ Los Angeles, SuperSnake also worked in Dallas at CHR “Y95” KHYI, New York at Rhythmic Oldies “Jammin 105” WTJM, Philadelphia at “Q102” WIOQ, San Francisco at 98.9 KSOL and “X100” KXXX in the late 80s and Hip Hop 106.1 KMEL in the mid 2000s, Tucson as Program Director and afternoon host at Rhythmic Oldies “106.3 The Groove” KTGV Oracle/Tucson in 2020/21, and on-air in Chicago, Houston and San Diego.

His family issued a statement, “We are devastated by this unexpected loss. Snake had the ability to make you feel like he was everyone’s best friend because he was larger than life. We will continue to honor Snake’s legacy and ask for privacy at this time. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with support.”
