Gen Media Partners has announced it is launching G Networks to succeed Sun Broadcast Group as the company’s “full-service network audio company providing clients, advertisers, and agencies with comprehensive and streamlined solutions in both Ad Sales and Affiliates”.
G Networks will retain most of Sun’s syndication portfolio including Woody & Wilcox, Ashley & Brad, Bob-FM, and Party Liveline.
Gen Media Partners Managing Partner Warren Friedland will take over as President of the company following the exit of Sun COO Danno Walkoff and VP/Operations Laura Orcan Wolkoff last month. Gen Media Partners acquired Sun in 2018 and added the Wolkoff’s Envision Networks in February 2020. Sun Founder/CEO Jason Bailey and COO Julio Aponte departed the company last summer with Danno Wolkoff taking over day-to-day leadership.
Rich Baum, who joined Sun in April, will serve as Chief Revenue Officer for G Networks, while Rich O’Brien remains as Chief Development Officer.
Gen Media Partners announced the launch today of its new Radio Network Sales and Affiliate Sales division, G Networks.
Rising in tandem with the Gen Media Partners successful umbrella of other radio divisions, G Networks will stand alone as a full-service audio network company that is already engaged with over 250 million listeners each month through over 4,000 affiliated radio stations.
G Networks has an existing and extensive portfolio of high-quality audio services, produced features, research services, entertainment, sports, news, and programming.
