Woodward Communications has cut ties with CHR “95.9 Kiss-FM” WKSZ De Pere/Green Bay WI morning hosts Jake Kelly and Tanner Jay on Wednesday.
Woodward issued a brief statement on social media Wednesday evening, “The Jake and Tanner Show is no longer a part of Woodward Community Media. We wish Jake and Tanner the very best and thank them for over six years with us.”
In a Facebook live stream this morning, the duo stated they will be launching a daily program starting Monday, November 27 on Facebook Live with extra features on Patreon. They stated that Woodward wanted to go into a different direction and the feeling was mutual with Kelly commenting, “We’re not mad at Woodward. I even thanked the General Manager for letting us do this for six years.” Jay followed, “It was getting to a point where a change was going to have to be made. Either we were going to make it or they were and they beat us to the punch.”
The duo joined WKSZ in October 2017 from mornings at then-Country 94.5 WKTI Milwaukee. They previously teamed in afternoons at Midwest Communications CHR 101.1 WIXX Green Bay from 2012 to 2015.
