SummitMedia has flipped 1980s Hits “Awesome 99.5” W258CB Greenville/107.3 WJMZ-HD3 Anderson SC to Hip Hop “Streetz 99.5“.
Positioning as “Where Hip Hop Lives”, the new format launched at 3pm today with Coi Leray’s “Players”, Blxst ft. Roddy Rich “Passionate”, and Moone Walker “Lizzo”.
The new format creates a lot of overlap with sister Rhythmic CHR “Hot 98.1” WHZT-FM Williamston and also targets Audacy Hip Hop “The Block” WFBC-HD2/W242BX/W283CG/W299BO. WHZT currently ranks seventh in the market with a 4.1 share, while The Block fell to a 0.9 in the March 2023 Nielsen Audio ratings. “Awesome 99.5” goes out with a 0.7 share.
