Three new research studies at this year’s WorldDAB Automotive conference

This year’s WorldDAB Automotive Conference, to be held on June 23, will feature three new research studies.

Joan Warner, CEO, Commercial Radio Australia will present on: Voice control – radio’s next frontier

Commercial Radio Australia commissioned research to inform the industry’s approach to voice activation. We hear an insider’s view on the key findings in that report, which is not publicly released until early July.

Aleksandra Gojkovic, Researcher, BBC will present BBC research on in-car ethnography

With a growing number of cars becoming connected, the BBC looked at what this means for the BBC and where the threats and opportunities lie. This is new research which has not yet been published elsewhere.

Nick Piggott, Project Director, RadioDNS and active member of the WorldDAB Automotive Working Group will present on DAB features implementation

WorldDAB has spoken with all the major auto manufacturers to get a better understanding on the DAB and hybrid radio features that are supported in their vehicles and that are on the road today. Do they show visual information, if so what information, and from which sources?

Join this live, interactive conference to hear how broadcasters and vehicles manufacturers are working together to implement solutions that keep radio prominent, while building a great radio experience for the listener.

The event will be moderated by Louise Goodman, an award-winning TV presenter and journalist with over 20 years of media experience.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • The evolution of digital radio within Android Automotive
  • Voice control and working with the vehicle manufacturers to ensure broadcasters are heard
  • Hybrid radio with DAB+ digital radio at its heart
  • The future of DAB+ station advertising in the car dashboard
  • Metadata and the importance of safe visuals

Over 400 delegates have already registered to attend this year’s event. There’s still time to sign-up for free, to hear about their new research on in-car listening from BBC, Commercial Radio Australia and WorldDAB.
