KXKC Shifts To 90s Country

99.1 KXKC Lafayette Nash-FMCumulus Media Country 99.1 KXKC Lafayette LA shifted to Classic Country on Friday, September 2.

Now positioning as “Your Home For 90s Country”, the move takes KXKC out of direct format competition with Townsquare Media’s market leading “97.3 The Dawg” KMDL but makes it the third gold based Country outlet in the market joining Broadcast Partners Inc.’s “Freedom 106.7” KPCZ-FM Rayne and Delta Media’s “Mustang 107.1” KOGM Opelousas.

With the change, former afternoon host Danita Maldonado has moved to mornings replacing the syndicated Kincaid & Dallas. Cory Melancon remains in middays. Weekend host Troy Leger moves up to afternoons, while the station drops Westwood One’s Nights with Elaina.

KXKC ranked ninth in the Lafayette market with a 3.2 share in the Spring 2022 Nielsen Audio ratings placing it well behind KMDL’s 10.0 share. KOGM and and KPCZ-FM had a 2.1 and 1.6 share respectively.
