Omni Broadcasting will flip Conservative Talk “Freedom 94.3” W232CF Fort Walton Beach/WTKE-HD3 Niceville FL to Classic Alternative on January 1.
“94.3 XYZ” will launch at 9am featuring a playlist of “Retro Alternative” from the late 1980s to early 2000s with core artists noted as including The Cure, Joy Division, R.E.M., and The Smiths.
Noting that the rebranding reflects Omni Broadcasting’s commitment to evolving with the times and providing our audience with the music they love, Station Manager Rik Wolfe said, “We are incredibly excited about this change. 94/3 XYZ will offer a nostalgic journey through the best of classic and retro alternative music, while continuing to engage and entertain our listeners with high-quality content.”
The station notes it will feature a diverse playlist of classic alternative tracks and deep cuts, themed shows and special programming highlighting subgenres and artists, engaging on-air personalities who are passionate about the music, and community-focused initiatives and events.
The new format joins a cluster that includes Classic Rock “100.3 K-Rock” WTKE-FM and Sports “The Ticket“ 103.7 W259AN Fort Walton Beach/WTKE-HD2 and 1490 WTKE Milton/97.1 W246BN Pensacola.
