Pete Price returns to Sunday night radio in Liverpool with In Demand

Former Radio City broadcaster Pete Price is joining the recently launched In Demand Decades.

He’ll be back in the time slot he made famous for over 40 years in the city – Sunday nights from 10pm till 1am starting on February the 9th.
The show won’t be his signature live phone-in but will feature music and interviews with celebrities, politicians, influencers, including, the station says, people who have shaped the world we live in today.
He will re-live some of his best phone in moments from over the years and present the Peaceful Hour from Midnight – another feature he did on Radio City.
Pete Price said “I am thrilled to be joining the team at In Demand Decades. The radio business has changed lots over the years but getting the chance to do local radio in the area I built my career, is a dream.
“I’m also excited about being back on Sunday nights in the time slot I’m most known for.
“I can’t wait to get started.”

BBC Radio 1 announces Liverpool for its flagship live music event

The BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend will take place in Liverpool this year with Sam Fender announced as the first headliner.

This morning on Breakfast, Greg James revealed the news, saying it will happen between Friday 23 May and Sunday 25 May in Sefton Park.
Myles Smith, Wet Leg, Blossoms and Lola Young were also announced as the first acts set to perform.
Over the course of the weekend, around 100 acts will take part performing across four stages: Radio 1 Main Stage, Radio 1 New Music Stage, Radio 1 Dance and BBC Introducing.
Greg James says: “FINALLY…Radio 1 HAS COME BACK…to Liv…er…pooool!
“The last time I was there I was doing a big game of Hide and Seek and was hidden in the Liver building for a week so it’ll be nice to see some daylight and enjoy it properly this time. We can’t wait to bring the biggest artists in the world to this brilliant city in May. Everyone’s going to LOVE the line-up!”
Aled Haydn Jones, Head of Radio 1, says: “We’re thrilled to bring Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2025 to Liverpool. Liverpool’s vibrant music scene and rich history make it the perfect setting for this iconic event.
“With incredible artists already announced and more to be announced in the coming months, it’s set to be an unmissable weekend.”
